The weekend that was...

Wanted to share my weekend. Lasy Saturday, Karen and I went to one of her bestfriend's birthday party in BF Resort, Las Piñas. Earlier, we planned to just stay at home to rest the whole weekend but it has been quite sometime before they got to see each other so I decided to let go of that plan and meet her bestfriends. I already met Lucky a couple of weekends ago and I thought to myself, I might as well meet Karen's other two bestfriends, Paolo and Lloyd.

It was a nice party, food was delicious, people were drinking and some got drunk. What's the use of drinking if nobody gets drunk, right?Ü Karen's bestfriends were all cool. I felt a little out of place because I was not drinking. I wanted to but I can't because of my diabetes. My not drinking posted a little problem plus my usual quite side always comes out when I am with people I just met. But it was still good, until the time we were about to go home. While saying our goodbyes, one of Karen's old friends almost hit my parked car while backing up. Karen said to the guy that he almost hit the car behind him. It was okay because nothing happened. The thing that irritated me was the guy's response. Instead of aplogizing, he said, "Palitan ko pa yan!" Or something like that. I cannot recall what he said exactly as I was on the verge of hitting the guy but was trying my best to control it. I guess, it was the alcohol or it because he also did not know that it was my car. Karen even tried to step in between the two cars to save my car from getting hit, which infuriated me more because HE DID NOT APOLOGIZE!!! Argghhh!!! Thinking about it still makes me furious!!!

Enough negativity and of that crazy Saturday. Sunday, our village held its annual Halloween festivities wherein kids first have a costume competition and afterwards will be trick or treating within the village. Karen and I went there to see the kids and because my niece also joined. I also saw my old officemate, Cielo with her kid. Sharing some of the photos I took during the event.

MEME???

Just a day after posting my very first blog. I got tagged by selle to post 5 weird memes (Pronunciation: 'mEm; an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture). I actually had a hard time thinking of the weird things that I do. I always thought they were normal.Ü Anyway, here they are..

1. I am super OC when it comes to my stuff. As long as nobody moves my things when cleaning my room, I know where find whatever I need even if they are very disorganized (A positive way to say that my room is dirty..Ü).

2. I like walking barefoot in my room.Ü That is why people cannot bring their shoes/slippers inside my room. Unless their slippers are clean and were not used outside the house.

3. I can watch anime all day! I am an anime addict. I was able to fill my 200GB hard drive with anime in a span of 1 week! I even thought to myself what use would I have for such a large capacity hard drive.Ü

4. During elementary, I listened to Metallica to make myself go to sleep.

5. When I was still in high school, I never continued courting a girl after giving her a gift. It sounds like a waste of time and money but for some reason I lose interest after doing so.

Well, that's that! Sounds lame? They seem normal to me.Ü I don't want to force my friends to blog so I'm not tagging anyone else. (Sana matamaan ka selle... JOKE!Ü)

Thanks selle for your all help! More so for your patience with my newbie questions about blogging.Ü Say my regards to Romnick! I mean, Resty!ÜÜÜ

Microsoft Windows VISTA

Today's the last day for our Windows VISTA training. After this, its back to my regular dose of stress in the office. Let's not entertain that thought while I still have my days off in between. Wooozzzaaahh....Ü

Anyway, I just wanted to share what I have learned from the training. VISTA is the next OS that windows will be releasing this 2007. Right now, I only have praises for this new OS since using it these past few days. It still is user-friendly but with some added spunk! Pardon me for sounding technical in this blog.Ü

There are 6 versions in all for VISTA (and their counterparts) namely, BETA (still BETA), Home Basic (XP Home), Home Premium (XP Pro), Business (MCE), Enterprise (Windows 2003 Server), and Ultimate (no predecessor). If you are thinking which version is the best, I would have to say VISTA Ultimate because it has all the features of all Windows VISTA versions. Must be a marketing strategy of Microsoft or they really just want to to cater to the customer's needs.Ü

First thing that you would notice would be there is no longer a Start button. It was replaced by the Pearl, the round button with the Windows logo in it. Sounds a little lame but it actually looks cool since it does not eat much space on the taskbar. Also, when you go to the All Programs menu, it no longer opens to the right.

Screenshot of the desktop I was using during the training.

VISTA also has the ability to edit the pictures you save. You can adjust the exposure, contrast, brightness even fix red eyes with out using a a third party editor such as Photoshop. Of course it would not be as good.Ü

VISTA Photo Editing

VISTA is already equipped with IE7. However, this IE7 not only has tabbed browsing like Mozilla. It also has Quick Tabs, wherein you will be able to see all of the websites you are surfing similar to looking your picture via thumbnail view.

IE7 with Tabbed Browsing and Quick Tabs

Two more features that amazed me were the Aero display and the 3D Flip. In the previous operating system versions of Microsoft, the windows have a solid colored border and you can only change its colors. With the Aero display, not only will you be able to change the colors, the transparency of the borders can also be adjusted depending on how much you want it to be!

Aero Display

We have been used to pressing Alt+TAB key in cycling through the windows that we have open. Eventhough they also made improvements on this shortcut by showing you thumbnails of the windows instead of just icons, Microsoft decided to go a step farther. VISTA is introducing the 3D Flip. By pressing the Windows_Key+TAB, you would also be cycling through your open windows, only this time you are looking at a 3 dimensional display. What's more amazing is that, you will also be able to see what's going on in each window. For example, you are watching a video from You Tube and you also have IE and MS Word open. When you cycle through those windows via the 3D Flip, you will still see the video you were watching running in the background! Amazing, isn't it?Ü

3D Flip

I think the only draw back is its demanding system requirements. You need to have at least 1GB of memory, 15GB free hard drive space, 1 GHz processor and 128MB video card that is Directx9 and WDDM (Windows Display Drivers Model) compatible. Now that's a lot to ask for just the OS! Too bad for those with only 40GB hard drive. You won't be able to install much after VISTA. (Selle and Barry... I think its time to upgrade.Ü)

Its recovery and troubleshooting tools are also way better than XPs. System restore can now be run through GUI even by going to the VISTA DVD. Missing system files (dll files) are now also easy to fix. Performance and Reliability monitors are also now available for users to see why their system is running slow or what software is causing the problem.

VISTA now has Processor, Memory, Network and Disc usage monitoring

Here are more screenshots of VISTA and its features. You should check out the Windows VISTA Home page at

Moving the mouse cursor over the windows on the taskbar will also give a live preview thumbnail.

noob here...

Finally! I have mustered enough courage to make my first post in blogspot! I'm actually quite nervous as to what to say here or how to begin. I know it sounds lame because blogging has been here for a long time but hey! At least I already started blogging, right?Ü

Still trying things out and learning about HTML. I'm envious of my friend's blogs so I have to learn to make mine look nice compared to theirs.Ü Just of thought of posting because we got out of our Vista training early today. I think I'll post something about it next.Ü
