Pac Daddy Back Online

Finally! After ten thousand years of troubleshooting, replacing parts and reinstallation. Pac Daddy is back online! OH HOW IT FEELS TO BE BACK!!!Ü

Still trying to remember what other softwares I need to install, though. Hopefully, I'll be back to optimal operations soon. I'll just get some sleep first because I still have work tonight.Ü

Mother&)$@*!!!!

I'm finally blogging at home but unfortunately, its not with the new pc... I reconnected the old one to try out which component is causing my new one not to work right. With the processor ok, only parts left to check out were the memory and the motherboard. Since I do not have an extra motherboard, I tried swapping the memory modules of the old pc and the new one. Guess the new memory module works since I am able to use the old one but the new one is still messed up even if I used the old memory. I've had this problem before and adjusting the BIOS fixed it. The BIOS before were a lot simpler compared to the new one so either the motherboard is really defective or I just can't figure out the right settings for the BIOS.

Hope I can figure it out soon! I do not want to go back to Gilmore because of the very busy weekend with the Christening and Children's Birthday party Karen and I have to attend. Not to mention that I have yet to shop for Christmas gifts! :)

Advanced MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! :D

Making sure I get to greet you just in case my computer is still down. :(

PC Trouble

Been having trouble with the new computer I just built. Sadly, the first time I set everything up, the system would not complete POST (Power On Self Test). Had to bring it back to PCOptions twice for a processor replacement. They suggested that I use the boxed HSF that went with the processor because they think the Hyper 6+ is causing the processor to fail due its size and weight. I took their suggestion to try and see. It worked and I was able to have a display on my LCD.

Unfortunately, I am unable to install windows in it because it either restarts, hangs or gives me a BSOD! Its actually starting to annoy me. The only thing that’s keeping me from smashing it with a sledgehammer is the fact that its still under warranty. I hope that its not hardware related and it just needs to have the correct BIOS settings but I was not lucky to see something from the web that would really help set just the normal settings. Most computer lovers (sounds better that computer geeks, right?) overclock their PCs. I’m not into that since it usually causes more heat and stresses the computer more. Hopefully, I was able to still pick up something during my research and some additional help from DSN to get this fixed.

That’s it for now. I might get caught blogging in the office.Ü

Crazy, sinful and expensive week

This past week has been very crazy for me. Last Tuesday til Wednesday, I went on leave to accompany Karen and Che because Che will be leaving for the US for a long time. Unfortunately, Karen's health was not getting better so instead of seeing Che before she leaves for the states, Karen ended up staying in the hospital fro 24 hours (policy of her HMO) to undergo endoscopy (which only took 3 mins! She waited for the doctor far longer than that!). My fever also came back together with my tonsilitis come Thursday which caused me to be absent from work. Stress can really be a pain in the butt! Good thing the rest was enough to regain my strength the following day.

While at work, I was telling Selle that I wanted to go to Gilmore after shift to try and finish buying the parts for my new computer. Selle wanted to go with me because the memory module she bought there was not working on their pc. During this time, food also came in as a very enticing topic. We have been planning to go Krispy Kreme eversince its opening day. We thought that this would be the day that we could go there. So we did!Ü On the way to Krispy Kreme at The Fort near Serendra, Selle noticed her "heavenly" All Flip Flops Store. Karen being a Havaianas lover herself also wanted to go inside to "look" around. Selle immediately noticed the Christmas limited edition and asked if they had her size. Karen also liked the design. She initially did not want to buy it because she did not have the money so I decided to buy it for her as my Christmas gift!Ü Hope you like it Love!ÜÜÜ

We then went to Krispy Kreme to see what the "hype" was all about. Fortunately for us, the line was not long that day plus we were given free doughnuts! I have to say that their glazed doughnuts are really good. Its not too sweet which was good since I was still recupperating from my tonsilitis.

On our way back to the car, Selle could not resist going inside The Face Shop, again, just to take a "look" inside. Imagine a little child going inside Toys R' Us... That should be enough to describe Selle's feeling that time. Am I right, Selle? HeeÜ It was a nice shop and Karen bought a nice very fragrant (but not irritating for my nose) lotion. I also love the perfume she tried! Maybe this weekend we can go back there so she can buy the perfume.

After Selle's shopping spree there we went to their studio, One Click Digital Photo Express.Ü In all honesty, the place was small but it was just right for their business plus it was incredibly well designed! They really did a great job decorating the place. Resty even took our photo there and gave us a free copy! Thanks Resty and Selle!Ü (Yes, Selle, I believe that there is such as thing as a SINTRA board!Ü)

Finally, it was my time to do my shopping!Ü We then went to Gilmore, home to a lot of computer shops. I already bought my mobo and proc the week before and now I was looking to buy a couple of hard drives, a case, power supply, HSF and a video card. Good thing the hard drives I wanted was out of stock or else because I was not able to bring enough money for all of those parts! Hehe We also met Barry and Kathy there. One month after Barry left the team for his LDP, it was nice to see each other again.

Afterwards,we went to JT's Manukan for some chow. The place was very simple and looks like just an ordinary carinderia but the food was awesome! I definitely, want to go back there and try out the rest of the menu. (Check out Barry's blog for more information about the place.)

It was such a long Saturday that Karen and I spent our Sunday resting at home sleeping and watching TV. Actually, Karen was the one resting while I was busy trying to figure out how to mount my HUGE HSF and put my pc together or at least, the parts that I already have.Ü

But wait, there's more! Come Monday, I could not resist the tempting AOC trade in offer. Several computer shops joined some charity fund raising public schools where in you can trade any old CRT monitor for a trade in value of Php2000 and purchase a 19" AOC 193FW LCD! Considering the ergonomics of an LCD and its power consumption compared to a CRT. I felt that it was a good deal! I now have a very roomy computer table plus I'm saving power! I just have to get used to the wide display.Ü

We went to ATC to have out lunch and while walking to the food court we saw Arianne and Sheila. They were on their way to the All Flip Flops store in ATC. When we got there the first thing I did was to look if the pair I bought Kha was also there> I think it was really a good decision that we bought that pair because it was not available in that branch. Karen also wanted to buy some new blouses and while on our way to the stall she usually buys from we stopped over a magazine stall where we bought a couple of wedding magazines for her cousin's wedding. We also bought a Care Bear to pair up with the one we bought a long time ago. Karen has named them Karingking (Tenderheart) and Pacasoy (Champ Bear)! See how cute they are!Ü

This weekend might be another shopping weekend. Its a payday weekend after all. Hopefully, the pay that I would be getting is enough to buy the things I need... or want.Ü

Samu't Sari Bazaar

This weekend, Tahanan Village held a Bazaar in its Multi-purpose hall. I had Karen accompany me to the Bazaar to have a look around. There were a lot of clothes for sale and a variety of decorations such as fancy jewelries, wood carvings, etc. I bought a leash for our newest dog, Pipa. I also got myself a henna tattoo!Ü

While I was getting my tatto, Karen looked around and bought a couple of pairs of sandals for 60Php. We ate dinner there before I took her to the office for her shift.

It was a nice bazaar, although I have to admit that I expected a little more because of the hype the Tahanan Homeowners Association did for the Bazaar. All in all, it was still a nice experience for me and Karen.

I was not able to take a lot of photos. I had trouble taking good ones because of the low lighting conditions.

E.N.T.

I have always disliked going to the hospital. Not that I'm afraid of doctors but because it means that either I or someone close to me is sick. However, I experienced something new when I went to the hospital yesterday and I thought of sharing it with you.

Yesterday morning, Karen and I went to the Asian Hospital in Alabang to have our sore throats checked. We've been sick for several days now and I could not take the pain anymore so I decided to go ahead and see an ENT and get proper medication. We first looked for a Medserv accredited ENT, our office's HMO. We were told that the earliest ENT clinic was 1pm and it was only 11am. It was ok for me to wait since Karen also had to look for an Intellicare accredited ENT. I just have to say that, doesn't that HMO sound very familiar... :)

When we went to see the recommended doctor by the secretary, we were told that Karen could no longer be accommodate because the doctor would be going to a convention. Alright! I guess there are other ENT doctors available here, right. We went back to the secretary to get another recommendation and informed her that the doctor she initially recommended had to go to a convention. We were then told that the clinic hours for the other ENTs were at 1pm. Fortunately, the secretary was very nice to check if the next ENT that she would be recommending would be coming in without us asking. While the secretary was doing that, Karen and I were already discussing were we would go while waiting for our doctors. During that time, the secretary called our attention to say that there were no available ENTs for that day because they would be going to a convention. We were both surprised to hear this. The first question that popped in Karen's mind was, what if there was an emergency and the patient needed an ENT? I thought to myself, can I also ask the secretary for Medserv to also check the clinics of the Medserv accredited ENTs. Thank God for the two very helpful secretaries for going beyond their job description in checking if the doctors would be coming in. However, the sad part was all the Medserv ENTs were also joining the convention. I was already thinking if we were being punished since we both were already struggling from the pain of just swallowing. Since we both badly need to see an ENT, we went to Healthway to check if they have an available ENT. No such luck! :(

To add to the string of bad luck we had, when I asked Karen to have my mom check for an ENT in Parañaque Medical, the ENT would be having their clinic at 4pm! I don't think I could wait that long since Karen and I have work that night. Good thing I listened to Karen when she suggested to try Las Piñas Doctors even though already inquired there and her the two ENTs she saw there before were not around. When we were told that a doctor is available by 1:30pm, I felt a little relieved. We can finally see a specialist!

THANK YOU LORD! :)

As of the moment, we are both feeling a lot better compared to the previous days. Hopefully, both of us would recover before Saturday for Samu't Sari event here in Tahanan!Ü
